Hand Crafted

Vermont Maple hardwood handles. Genuine suede straps. Durable leather handles. Rugged blue Cordura® fabrics. All are hallmarks of the now legendary Portabrace field production case. And all require skill, strength, and patience to craft by hand into the form-fitting, performance-enhancing cases sought-after by field and location production professionals worldwide.

Every Portabrace case is built by an experienced and dedicated team of craftspeople at 940 Water Street, North Bennington, Vermont. We operate in a century-old mill on the banks of the Walloomsac River, at the base of Mount Anthony in the Green Mountains.

The PortaBrace Team

Founded in 1972 at the inception of field video recording, Porta-Brace is the original field production case. Launched by the spirit of innovation and experimentation, this legacy of leadership still fuels the Portabrace design and production teams more than 30 years later. Our craftspeople now collectively apply more than 300 years of sewing, design, and material experience with an average tenure over 10 years.

PortaBrace TagThe Portabrace heritage of quality workmanship and exceptional performance is inherent in the Vermont traditions of artistry, free-expression, woodworking, cottage industry, and fierce independence. Vermonters are a proud lot, and the Portabrace team is no exception. There are no “seconds” or “irregulars” at Porta-Brace. If it’s not exactly right, we fix it. And when it’s our best work, we sign our name on the tag you’ll find in every Portabrace case.

While we’re confident in our skills and our work, we still take the time to inspect every case before it’s shipped to you. We appreciate fully the value of your equipment, and understand that there are no second chances in field production. Award-winning recording opportunities can be missed in the blink of an eye, so we design our cases to be integral to your field performance and then build them to the highest quality and performance standards.

Thank you for your trust and confidence. We won’t let you down.
